Performing Gender - lecture by Peggy Olislaegers
On Friday 24 May Peggy Olislaegers, artistic director of Nederlandse Dansdagen, will give a talk about the project Performing Gender at 14:00 in the auditorium. Performing Gender is an international collaboration between dancers, performers, choreographers and artists. The project invites 16 young choreographers, from four European countries, to share a two year voyage of research and formation on the themes of sexuality and gender roles, with the aim of creating works which tell of new forms of contemporary identity, created for the most wide-ranging and varied of audiences possible. The Van Eyck is one of the engaged institutes and offers two of its participants the possibility to partake in this long term project.Performing Gender is created and organised by the Comitato Provinciale Arcigay Il Cassero di Bologna (IT) and Gender Bender Festival (IT) together with the Dutch Dance Festival (NL), Paso a 2 Plataforma Coreográfica (ES) and Domino/Queer Zagreb Festival (HR) and will take place in Bologna, Maastricht, Madrid and Zagabria. Partners include MAMbo - Museo d’Arte Moderna in Bologna (IT), Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid (ES), Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht (NL), Van Eyck in Maastricht (NL), Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU) in Zagreb (HR).
You are more than welcome to attend Peggy Olislaeger’s introduction.
